Chris & Sam Engagement Sneak!

Boxberger and Michael have been best friends for about five years now. Somewhere along the way, I grew fond of Boxie as well. :) So nothing makes me happier than to know he's found someone who truly makes him happy, and that he gets to spend the rest of his life with her. Let's be real, Box, Sam's probably too cool for you, but you guys are adorable together so it's okay.

They're getting married next May, and I'm so excited for them. It's going to be a great day. Check out the sneak!

Ben & Shanda Wedding Preview!

As I mentioned in their engagement session post... we were really excited for Ben and Shanda to get married. Last month they were wed at a beautiful winery in south central Kansas. Though toasty, it wasn't a horribly hot day for June in Kansas and everyone seemed to have a great time. Here's another quick preview!

Sarah & Shawn Engagement!

The last of the Seals children to get married... littlest sister Sarah is getting married to Shawn next April. She asked if Michael and I would take their engagement pictures for her. After a few, "Are you sure?!"s I agreed.  I'm glad I did because we had a great time. Sarah is absolutely gorgeous, and Shawn has always brought out the best in her. They are great together, and I'm more than honored that Sarah asked me to be a bridesmaid. I want nothing more than to stand up there next to her as she and Shawn commit to spending their lives together.

We laugh a lot as a family. So I caught some of those moments, but really, they crack themselves up too. Which I think is so important.

5.25.13 Matt & Anne Wedding

Michael and I knew Anne from college, so when she asked us to photograph her and Matt's wedding, we jumped at the opportunity. We caught a break in the stormy weather pattern for a beautiful, sunny day. Anne and Matt were so comfortable with each other, and so in love. The way they looked at each other all day made me melt. How can you not love love?

Got me.

Baby Milo

I've known Alysia for years. My little sister's best friend... someone I've always been so happy that she's been in her life. Alysia had little miss Brylie a couple years ago, and I've taken her pictures a couple times. That little girl is an absolute beautiful hoot. On the 15th, Alysia had a little boy, named King. I (selfishly) offered to take newborn pics of him once he was born, and Alysia graciously let me. So a couple of days before Christmas, my little sister and I went over and checked him out.

Little dude is absolutely handsome. And adorable. And I would have stolen him if it were even sort of appropriate. But I just snapped away instead. I've already posted a couple of pics on fb and twitter, buuuut I'm here to post a few more.

Because I want to.

Eli

So Mr. Eli is 13 months old now. His mom (my great friend), Ashlee, and I went and got donuts and coffee the other day and walked around. It was a little toasty outside, but I brought my camera along and snapped these few of Eli. Had to since we'll all only be in Manhattan for a couple more weeks.

Ben & Shanda Engagement

So Michael and I have known Ben and Shanda since high school... (Actually Michael's known them longer than that...) and so we were kinda super excited for them when they got engaged. Even more excited when they asked us to do their engagement pictures for us. They were guinea pigs... our first engagement session, but they were patient troopers about the whole thing, and the pictures turned out all right. Here's a quick preview... (Picking just a few is always the worst part of this process...)

Wedding

Weddings are such a beautiful time. The way the love overflows from every person in the place is just amazing. The happiness is contagious. Photographing them is so different than other sessions. But, the ultimate goal is still the same - capture moments between people that they will be able to forever look back on.

Family & Maternity

Family's always been a huge deal to me. I'm close to my whole family, and I always love looking back at pictures from past years. My favorites are when everyone's personality shines through. So whether it's maternity pictures, with a new munchkin about to enter the picture, or families with grown kids. It's all awesome.

 
 

Toddlers

As much as I love newborns and infants... I love toddlers just as much. As they grow into their personality, I love their eagerness to learn. To watch them learn to interact with others and objects is absolutely fascinating to me. Catching them to take pictures is infinitely more difficult, but the result is usually more fun. (Several of these are my adorable nephew, cause the poor kid's been a subject since birth. :) )

Infant

It's crazy to me how quickly newborns grow and change. Out of nowhere they're suddenly developing personalities, laughing, crawling, walking... and just bein' plain cute.

Newborn

There's something special about photographing newborns. They're so tiny and squishy and innocent, and their eyes seem to tell stories beyond their years.

All righty, this ol' blog is getting dusted off. As awesome as facebook is, I think I'm gonna start using this again to do sneak peeks. I also want to have an overview category so there's going to be a quick onslaught of posts... Just a heads up!

Max

My older sister's friend Amber and her husband Josh were gracious enough to let me take pictures of their 2-month old son, Max. He was born premature, but he's awesome and thriving now. These are just a few of the maaaany I took. There's a few more over at the Facebook page.

A work in progress...

I decided to start up a photography blog, just so that I wouldn't have to post quite so many pictures on my day-to-day blog. Who knows if I'll keep it going or what, but it's a start for now.
