We are a husband & wife team. We just graduated with our undergrad degrees, he studied music and psychology, and is now pursuing a masters in psychology, and she graduated with degrees in chemical engineering and biochemistry. That fact right there shows that we are two halves to a whole. Michael (he) tends to be the more artistic one, while Alex (she/me) is the more logical (and type A) one, but we both have our moments of crossing over to the other sides.
As of now, Michael tends to like taking pictures of objects and scenery rather than people in a "session" type of setting. Since I (Alex) tend to hog the camera most of the time, Michael doesn't get much of a chance with it. Plus during the school year, he tends to have a bit of stuff going on with the music department. But when he does get the chance to snap some pictures, it's always worth whatever wait there's been.
I, on the other hand, love taking pictures of people. Starting out with mostly family and friends, it's been a self-taught and ever-teaching experience. I love capturing both the "set" moments, and the "in-between" moments. I think that some of the best pictures are the in-between ones, where no one really knows that a picture is being taken. It's then that peoples' personalities tend to shine. I believe that laughter, love and hope are three of the most beautiful things to photograph, especially in this day and age where there is pain and sadness lurking at every corner. This is especially why I love photographing kids. Between their innocence and their carefree approach to every thing they do, they're amazing to photograph. Plus, they grow up so fast, pictures are a must.
